Oh, and one more thing…
My favorite new tool for virtual facilitation is the Wheel of Names. With this free tool, you can enter a list of short options, then spin the wheel to randomly choose an option. You can customize colors, share your wheels with others, and save wheels for later when logged into Google.
It’s so easy to use that you can populate it with options that participants brainstorm on the fly, then spin to pick one at random.
What can you do with the Wheel of Names?
Enter the names of your participants to select someone to start a go-around or round robin.
Enter the names of your participants to select one for a moment of praise: “What’s one thing you appreciate about this person?” Do this several times throughout the event.
List animals, choosing one as the event’s mascot.
Practice improv! List prompts to stories, choosing one for the group to kick off a round of storytelling. One person speaks, then choose another prompt that the next person has to tie into the previous person’s story.
Make TWO wheels, one with adjectives, the other with animals. Combine the answers to come up with ninja names.
Brainstorm and select a team name for the event.
Enter prompts to an icebreaker question, such as “What’s your favorite…?” (Click this link to see my version, which you can use and modify for yourself!)
